The Violet platform obtains the required data from a combination of data sources—including the onboard vehicle network, control system, and real-time signal inputs via the Electronic Data Acquisition Processor (EDAP).
Starting July 1st, 2025, CARB’s new In-Use Locomotive Regulation requires strict monitoring of idle times and emissions. The Wi-Tronix platform automatically tracks and reports all required metrics, ensuring your fleet stays compliant.
Wi-Tronix is working with many railroads to monitor and report alternative energies including hydrogen, LNG, electric, and bio-fuels
Hydrogen
Electric
Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG)
Bio-Fuels
The Wi-Tronix platform seamlessly collects locomotive operational data from the onboard Event Recorder, which interfaces through Wi-Tronix ultrasonic fuel sensors, or, through OEM application. Second-by-second locomotive data and positioning tracks the locomotive location to report which Air District(s) the locomotive is operating in. Daily historical data such as fuel consumption, emissions, and more is summarized by region, locomotive, and fleet, which can all be accessed on the Wi-Tronix portal.
Simply click the PDF icon on the “Regional Fuel/Energy Usage Summary” page on the Wi-Tronix portal to generate a compliance report for quick and easy submission.
