Wi-Tronix is founded by Larry Jordan and Michael Heilmann when the two began to work in Larry’s basement in the Chicago suburbs.

We launch our first product, the Wi-PU. Fun fact, it wasn’t originally purple! The Wi-PU is installed on our first Class I customer, BNSF.

Wi-Tronix relocates from Larry’s basement to our first facility in Bolingbrook, IL.

An innovative year: our team releases Emergency Brake Alerts, Low Fuel Alert, Real-Time Engine Fault Data, Diagnostic Logs, and more.

Still a customer favorite, our team unveils the Digital Video Recorder with On-Demand Video & Snapshots.

While turning five years old, we ship our 1,000th Wi-PU and acquire our first passenger rail customer, Amtrak.

Building on the DVR release a few years prior, our team releases Auto Event Recorder and DVR Downloads for Alerts.

Wi-Tronix relocates to our current Promenade facility, all while releasing several highly utilized alerts.

What a time to remember: we host our first ever User Conference.

While working on product innovations such as EOT Data Integration and DVR Download by Location, Congressman Bill Foster visits Wi-Tronix.

We turn ten years old! This same year, we unveil our Mobile Phone Detection Alert.

Our Product Team releases In-Cab Audio, Train Trip Summary, Fleet Summary (Mobile View), and Auto Data Sharing.

Our Violet IoT Platform is launched. At the time, this Violet is actually purple!

Siemens becomes a minority investor in Wi-Tronix, and we celebrate our first Light Rail Vehicle installation with Atlanta Streetcar.

Our team implements Scaled Agile Framework for Enterprise (SAFe); we also release Camera Obstruction, Chain of Custody, and more!

We’re 15! We achieve SOC 2 Type II certification, launch our Offline Viewer, online Community, and mobile-optimized Live Signals.

Despite the pandemic, our team releases Data Sharing, One-Click Video Download, LNG Energy Monitoring, and our CDS/TOD!

We become ISO 9001:2015 certified and ensure compliance to the upcoming Transport Canada LVVR Regulation.

Noted rail leaders Ed Harris and DJ Stadtler join our Board of Directors and we install the Violet on its first hydrogen locomotive!
